Chris Karbowski

Chris has worked in the heating and air conditioning industry since December 1989. Prior to this he served as a third generation military member in the United States Army as a quartermaster equipment repair technician. He has extensive experience in sales, service, installation, and maintenance. Chris currently maintains the following certifications:

  • State of WI Department of Safety and Professional Services HVAC qualifier - This qualifier requires passing an exam to prove expertise in design, installation, servicing, and maintenance of HVAC systems and equipment.

  • North American Technician Excellence (NATE) Certified - NATE tests applicants on real-world working knowledge of HVACR systems to validate the professional competency of service and installation technicians. As their website states “contractors, manufacturers, distributors and educators across the industry partner with NATE to develop knowledgeable, competent HVACR technicians” and “home and business owners choose HVACR contractors who employ NATE-certified technicians to get repairs done right - the first time”. A condition of maintaining this certification is completing 16 hours of continuing education every 2 years. Furthermore, Bryant requires this certification of at least 50% of the technicians employed by all of their factory authorized dealers.

  • 608 Refrigerant handling - Under Section 608 of the Federal Clean Air Act all technicians who maintain, service, repair, and/or dispose of equipment that could release refrigerants into the atmosphere must be certified through the EPA.
